whole egg for stye

am prone to styes. Usually I can cure them by applying peroxide with a Q-tip, but this time it was so bad, nothing would pop it. I asked an old mexican man what cure I could apply, and he said a whole egg applid for 20 minutes. Sure enough, I applied the egg and my stye started seeping blood and pus afeter only 10 min.!!! Hope I can help someone else with this home remedy.
