Home remedies for Hiccups

Hiccups may not be a serious medical problem, but they certainly are a great nuisance, especially if you are out with friends or are at a formal gathering. The following home remedies, however, can help you get rid of them quickly-

  • • Sip ice cold water but remember not t gulp it down as you might end up choking on it.
  • • Have a one or two lumps of sugar
  • • Hold your breath, count till 8 and then exhale, do this 4-5 times to stop your hiccups
  • • Have a tablespoon of peanut butter (if you are not allergic to peanuts)
  • • Force yourself to burp every time you get a hiccup
  • • Avoid eating hot and spicy food if you are prone to hiccup attacks

These home remedies are quite effective and will produce results within a few minutes.
