Gold ring cures stye

When I was younger I got a stye on my eye. My grandmother told me to take a gold ring ( not gold plated but real gold ) and rub it on the stye and it would be gone the next day. It really does work! I am sure that any piece of gold jewelery would work, but a ring is what I have always used.
