Best Home Remedy for Cold and Flu

The best home remedy for the cold and/or flu is hot Matzoh Ball Soup. At first glance, you may think this is an old wive's tale, but there are three scientific reasons why this is a good cure.

1) The chicken soup is salty. Through the process of osmosis, the chicken soup will make the unhealthy cells in your throat and body shrink, and make it easier for your immune system to fight the invading virus or bacteria.

2) The soup is hot. Process of osmosis speeds up in the presence of heat.

3) The matzoh ball fills up your stomach, and puts you to sleep. Your body needs additional rest to fight the illness.

Personally, I am a big fan of Jerry's Deli Matzoh Ball soup. There are four locations in Los Angeles, CA.

Hi, drake! I totally agree

Hi, drake! I totally agree with you. A hot bowl is defintely one of, if not, the most recommended home remedies for flu. Aside from the fact that we always hear our mom's voice to eat chicken soup whenever flu bugs get us down, research shows that a hot chicken soup actually encourages productive cough, which helps clear out mucus from our lungs. Throw in a generous amount of garlic and other pungent spices in the soup not only to enjoy this very comforting dish but to make sure that your body will benefit from the spice's healing attributes.
