Lemon juice and rose water acne treatment

Method

  • Mix equal parts lemon juice and rose water.
  • Apply directly to skin. You might feel an initial sting from the lemon juice.
  • Rinse after 15-30 minutes.

Why It Works

Lemon juice is a natural astringent and mild antibacterial agent. Rose petals, from which rose water is made, also have antibacterial properties. It is a also a skin toner and helps to mitigate the rather harsh, acidic quality of straight lemon juice.

Precautions

Be careful of exposing your skin to direct sunlight if you have been using lemon juice on your face. Also, though a strong reaction is unlikely, do not continue this treatment if it irritates your skin.

I'm going to try this i have had acne for so long since i was 10 i started breaking out now that i'm 18 its getting worse. I have tryed everything that is out there that "supposivley" clears acne and it has just made it worse i'm going to try this lemon juice treatment

has anyone tried this? i've had acne since i was 14 and its gotten pretty bad... now i'm 18 and still looking for what works for my skin...people have told me use lemon but it seems to just irrate my skin more.. maybe rosewater will help lessen te acidity in the lemon...ehh maybe i'll try >,<

My sister told me about using lemon juice for acne a few months ago. I didnt believe her for one second but when I tried it I can honestly say that it works better than any other product I have spent money on. I noticed a difference in a matter of days. I cut a lemon in half and squeeze the juice into a little container and store in my fridge. I use it twice a day (sometimes 3 times: morning, after work and before bed) I just dip my fingers in the juice and rub it on my face and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Also, I use honey for blackheads. I honestly dont spend money on any acne products anymore except for lemons and honey lol
