Please note I am not a physician and cannot diagnose any medical condition. In this case, I am not even sure what this could likely be based on the limited description you have provided.

What I can say is that pain is never normal; it is a physiological sign that something is amiss in the body. If the pain persists or increases, it would be prudent to seek medical attention from a qualified healthcare professional.

Back pain can arise from a myriad of sources, from nerve dysfunction, to musculoskeletal problems, to vertebral disc issues. It could even be some sort of organ dysfunction such as with the kidneys and pain is induced when they are compressed by the action of sneezing. Really, there is no way to be sure.

Has your husband tried anything for the pain? Does anything make it better or worse? Appropriate treatment will depend on an accurate diagnosis. For instance, physical therapy may be appropriate to strengthen the muscles supporting the spine if there is a bulging disc, but would be ineffective or even dangerous if there is a nerve compression.

You can check out our page here on GrannyMed.com for back pain and see if any of those remedies provide relief. If not, seek medical attention.
