My husband suddenly gets

My husband suddenly gets small boils and red-rashes on this face, chest, back, arms and legs. I know he has nut allergy and hence I dont use any nuts at home. The timing is odd. He usually gets it in the evenings, right after he has come from gym, maybe around 8 or 9 pm. I use olive oil. He usually has wheat/chapathis for dinner..would this be the reason? It reduces after about 3 to 4 hours. I give him tamarind, orange juice, butter-milk and he takes a lukewarm shower. What other remedies can you suggest? Can he take any antihistamines ?

Please note that I am not a physician and cannot diagnose any medical condition. Even if I could, it would be imprudent to do so without a proper physical examination or laboratory testing.

Since you have noticed that the skin reaction your husband is having happens so regularly, I am wondering if it is a form of atopic dermatitis, or an allergic skin reaction. Especially since your husband already has one known allergy to nuts, his immune system may be primed to over-react to other allergens as well.

Perhaps it is the detergent you use on his clothing, and when he sweats, residue on the clothes gets activated the rubs against the skin. Maybe he is reacting to something at the gym. It is difficult to know exactly what is causing this reaction, but because of the timing, it is likely related to his trip to the gym.

You can check out our page here on GrannyMed.com for rashes and skin irritation for some natural remedies that may help soothe his irritated skin. If the problem persists, seek consultation with a healthcare professional and perhaps consider getting tested for specific allergens so your husband will know what things to avoid.
