Oh Anju, if only I could give you a remedy for that. The only person to help with that is your husband and only when he is ready to accept that he has a drinking problem. Even then it will be a battle he will have to fight his entire life. I do not envy you; my Father too is an alcoholic. I grew up in Alcoholics Anonymous; going to Ala-Teen and Alanon meetings for children and spouses of alcoholics and addicts. In those meetings we learned how to make him take responsibility for his actions and decisions as well as live with his problem. We also learned how not to blame ourselves or accept blame for his drinking as well as how not to hate and judge him for his disease.

I am sorry that neither I nor anyone else can give you a remedy for his problem. It is actually up to him to find it in himself. Just remember that you, your financial situation, or any other circumstances are not an excuse to abuse alcohol. There are no excuses. He must summon the strength within himself to realize that he has a problem and you cannot fix it.
