Hi Cathy, My doctor says that I have a rash on my chest that is caused by stress and anxiety. Do you have any recommendations on what I can do to reduce or control my stress? Thanks

Wow, Brendan wouldn’t I love

Wow, Brendan wouldn’t I love to have a magic answer to this one. I can try and make a few suggestions though. We are going to start with overall good health. If you drink sodas – stop. Increase your overall fluid intake by incorporating water, juices, or teas. Make sure not to drink anything containing caffeine, sugars, corn syrups, glucose, and carbonation. You should drink enough daily to cause your urine to be clear. This helps flush out toxins.
As far as your stress levels, we will have to work a little harder. Stressors come in many forms. They vary in each of us. With some people its work, with some it may be home life; a combination of both or neither one. You must find out what stresses you. Keep a daily journal and write down how you feel at different times of the day. Make a list of likes and dislikes, advantages and disadvantages. One of the greatest things to remember is that if you can’t directly change or help a particular situation or problem; then you must let go of it. Wash your hands of it. Don’t dwell on it. We are in such a hurry these days, slow down, allow yourself more time.
I once heard a story of a man who everyday on his way in the house would appear to take off this “jacket” and hang it in a “tree”. When asked what in the world he was doing, he stated “I’m placing my troubles on the trouble tree; I don’t take them home with me. Usually they are gone in the morning and I can start out new”. Think about this. Worrying (stressing) has never solved any one problem. In fact quite the opposite, it will manifest in to other problems.
Good luck to you, I hope this has been of some assistance. Remember – if you can’t change it, let it go.

Cathy
