The first thing I'd recommend, before I suggest any particular treatment, is that you make sure to get a diagnosis from your physician. The symptoms you describe (sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, pain, swelling, and ear pain) could all very well be caused by allergies. They could also be caused, however, by a viral or bacterial infection, or even something more serious. If the condition persists longer than 5 days, worsens, or you begin to run a fever greater than 101 degrees, seek medical attention.

If you are reasonably sure that these symptoms are due to seasonal allergies, here are a few natural herbs and remedies that may help, and even have a bit of scientific evidence to back them up.

Stinging nettle capsules, butterbur, grapeseed extract, and quercetin may all help with alleviating allergy symptoms. In addition, goldenseal and echinacea, vitamin C, and Zinc may all boost the immune system.

Finally, consider using a saline wash to cleanse and moisturize nasal passages and use steam to ease breathing. Drink plenty of water and get appropriate amounts of sleep, and you should be feeling better shortly.
