can cats transmit headlice? we have cats and daughter with lice, can they pass it back and forth

The answer is no, your daughter cannot pass the lice onto the cats or vice versa. Human head lice require human blood. Cat lice require cat blood. Lice are species specific.

However, the lice could be transmitted to you. Lice are very contagious and should be treated appropriately. Also treat the linens or any plush toys your daughter may use to prevent transmission.
