Hyperpigmentation is caused

Hyperpigmentation is caused from too much Melanin, a hormone. This hormone can be produced in excess by too much sunlight, or other balances of hormones (which is why it may exasberate while on the pill or durring pregnancy). If your hormones are out of whack, I would take care of that first. Stay out of the sun for long periods of time and take vitamin C. Vitamin C is known to be a melanin inhibitor.
