What is a scar?
A scar is new tissue that replaces damaged tissue. Even a small cut will leave a scar that usually disappears quickly. Although scars are a completely normal part of a healing wound, they can be unattractive. Large scars can also cause pain or discomfort because scar tissue is not as flexible as normal skin and does not breathe properly. The severity of a scar depends on many factors: genetics, the location of the injury and, of course, the severity of the injury. Some scars require surgery to remove or at least reduce their presence. But for less severe injuries, herbal remedies and natural treatments can minimize scar tissue.
