Home Remedies For Pelvic Pain

Pelvic Pain Definition

Pelvic pain is pain in the lower abdominal area below the navel or belly button. The musculoskeletal pain in the pelvic area is common during pregnancy. The main symptoms are pain in the inner thighs, lower back pain and groin pain. The pain is so strong that it can cause substantial distress and disruption of function such as inability to walk and move.

Chronic pelvic pain is that which has been present six months or longer. In pregnancy the hormone relaxin is released to soften the joints in preparation for the birth, but in some women the hormone can cause stretch and becomes painful.
