Latest Questions and Answers About Menstrual Cramps
Ask a Question
What causes menstrual cramps?
The abdominal pain that many women experience before and/or during menstruation is not completely understood. Research has shown a correlation between high levels of a hormone called prostaglandins and severe menstrual cramps. Contracting blood vessels may also be the cause of the pain. Whatever the cause, it's clear that women around the world have developed different methods to deal with menstrual cramps. Some of them can be found here at GrannyMed. Make sure to see a doctor if cramps are a problem for you. In some cases they can be caused by serious conditions such as endometriosis or uterine fibroids.
