A Headache which appears three times a month or more, needs to be checked and also a preventive treatment is recommended. Drug therapy, training for biofeedback, reduction of the tension, and elimination of certain food, are common methods to prevent and control migraines and other headaches. Regular exercise, like swimming or vigorous walking can also reduce to the frequency and the severity of migraine headaches. The drug therapy for migraine is often combined with biofeedback training and relaxation.

Headache prognosis


Sometimes headaches might be signals of more serious disorders that might need medical aid. These include: sudden, severe headache, or a sudden headache associated with neck pain, headaches associated with fevers, convulsions, or accompanied by confusion or loss of sense, headaches who are associated to pain in the eye or ears, persistent headache in a person who was previously headache free, and a headache in children that returns often.

Migraine headaches can last a day or more, can appear as often as several times a week or as rarely as once every few years.
