Foot Odor Definition

Foot odor is a bad smell connected with the feet when being closed for too long. Foot odor is a result of long hours of wearing shoes with or without socks. The shoes provide warm, moist conditions for bacteria to develop. The feet have more sweat glands than any other part of the body and therefore they sweat a lot, creating optimal conditions for foot odor causing bacteria.

Foot odor comes from the bacteria that develop in this environment, the bacteria produces isovaleric acid that causes the odor.

Stress, medicines, some drugs, heat and hormonal changes can increase the smell.
