Home Remedies For Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Definition

The carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway located on the palm side of the wrist. The tunnel protects the main nerve to the hand and nine tendons that bend the fingers.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a medical condition that occurs when the median nerve becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist. This causes symptoms like tingling, numbness, night time wakening, pain, coldness, and sometimes weakness in parts of the hand.

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is more common in women than it is in men and has a peak incidence around age of 50, although it can occur at any age.
