Carpal tunnel syndrome home remedies

What is carpal tunnel syndrome?

The carpal tunnel is a narrow passage in the wrist that provides a passage for the median nerve to enter the hand. When this passage becomes inflammed, it puts pressure on the nerve, therby causing pain and numbness to the hand and fingers. The computer age has brought with it a tremendous increase in the incidence of this condition because the repetitive motion involved in using a keyboard can cause carpal tunnel syndrome. This condition can be so severe as to be disabling but there are things that you can do at home to prevent or manage the pain.
