What Causes Body Odor?
Body odor is caused by the interaction of bacteria with the sweat from the apocrine glands in your hair follicles. These sweat from these glands contains fats which are broken down by the bacteria, sometimes resulting in body odor. There are a lot of variables that influence the severity of body odor including, but not limited to, diet, personal hygeine, the fabrication of your clothing, some types of sickness and the tolerance of others. If you experience a sudden, noticeable change in body odor, consult a doctor as it may be a sign of a more serious condition.
