Sore Throat Definition:


Sore throat, also called strep throat, is a painful common inflammation, caused by bacterial, viral and fungal infection.

Sore throat can happen at any age but is most common at the ages of 4-7.

Sore Throat Diagnose:


Sore throat is first noticed by having problems to swallow, razor feeling. strep throat can also include headaches and even stomach aches and nausea.
When the doctor will check the patient he will find red, sometimes swollen tonsils.

The most common virus is streptococcus, but there are many kinds of other viruses as well.

Throat swab is the most common way to diagnose the viruses; during the procedure the doctor takes a sample of the viruses from the throat, the tonsils and the pharynx.

Treatment for Sore Throat:


Sore throat may include some side effects and can be contagious; therefore it is important to treat the disease.
After taking the throat swab the doctor can tell what virus the patient has and decide if the give antibiotics or not.
In order to treat sore throat there are also natural house hold treatments that can be used: warm tea or soup, gargling warm salty water, popsicles, and more.
