Insomnia: When Staying Up Needs To Stop

We live in a 24 hour generation. It has become the norm for people to stay up well into the night. This is either do to social reasons or related to work. However, there are many people who have slipped over the line into insomnia.

Insomnia is a sleep disorder where the sufferer has problems falling asleep. There are many types of insomnia.

  • Acute Insomnia - When the Insomnia lasts for a distinct time period
  • Chronic Insomnia - Lasts a long time, without defined times
  • Primary Insomnia - When a person's insomnia is not caused by intervening factors
  • Secondary Insomnia - Is when the insomnia is caused by an intervening circumstance like depression, health issues, or substance abuse

So what can we do to end insomnia naturally?

Home remedies for Insomnia include:
  • Chamomile Teas
  • Fill up your pillow cover with: peppermint, rosemary, rose leaves, lavender and Lemon verbena
  • Stir 1 teaspoon of lavender leaves to a cup of boiling water, cool and drink 3 times daily
  • Meditation
  • Go to sleep early and wake up early
